Health & Wellness Literacy Education
Health is defined as a “state of physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being in which disease and infirmity are absent.”Wellness and health literacy education should be in our lives from day 1. Since this is not the case, valuing and building a foundation apon fitness, healthy lifestyle, wellness and community gathering is a gap we intend to help fill.

- Children who learn and value fit healthy lifestyle change habits are less likely to experience mental health, illness and disease and more likely to sustain healthy lifestyles as adults and pass on those values to their children.

Community Center
We are concerned that our increasingly diverse community has limited opportunity to get to know each other. A welcoming and inclusive community recreation center would bring a diverse population together under one roof. Your donations will help us raise the financial support needed to build a community recreation center operated by the YMCA.

Support Our Vision
As a 501 c(3) Public Charity we seek the donations and volunteers necessary to help us fundraise and reach our goal to purchase the land and build a community recreation center.

The community recreation center design will include the following indoor/outdoor recreational attributes
An indoor community pool with swim modules for children, active adults, with competitive and basic learning swim zones; fitness [strength and aerobics] training rooms, indoor social center(s) and activities learning center and community events gathering place. Local experts will offer wellness, fitness, diet and health literacy education and seminar fairs. Including other recreational specialties and hobbies, and job incubator-entrepreneur courses and events of community interests will also be offered.
The outdoor activities zones will include: "recreation without walls" fitness attributes [think rock climbing wall, outdoor fitness and aerobics instruction center, outdoor track, BMX/Skateboard skills track, basketball hoops, handball, etc., and 500 car parking space encircling the community recreation center and without walls activities.

Consider volunteering your time to help us achieve "Recreation for Everyone" in the City of Tigard and surrounding areas. Families that work, play, and spend leisurely time together build strong bonds and fond memories of community service. Then pass off those values, interests and community involvement and stewardship to the next generation. What better way to look out after your loved ones and pass off the fit healthy lifestyle torch to your children.
